Ride to the Mendota Corn Festival. Free corn.
Come take a leisurely ride down to Mendota, IL to attend the National Sweetcorn Festival and enjoy some **free** sweet corn… Yes.. FREE CORN.. All you can eat, including real butter, salt and pepper. You can even take some home if your inclined and bring an appropriate container.
We will meet at the Citco Gas station on the
Southwest corner of routes 60 and 176 (Mundelein). The pre-ride briefing with be at 9:15a and KSU at 9:30.
We should arrive there with plenty of time for everyone to walk the event and sample some of the fair food. Corn will be served at 2p. We will plan to be back at the parking lot at 2:45p for a quick pre-ride briefing and on the road by 3p. We will be heading to Stark’s Corners (Rt 47 and Rt 72), which will be the end of the ride. Please ask for directions home if needed.
The weather report calls for overcast skies and a high of 81 for Mendota at this point.
