“Winner-Winner Chicken Dinner” Ride

9:00 am Meet at Rt.12 (Rand Rd) and Lake Cook Rd. behind the Shell Station
9:15 am Pre-Ride meeting
9:30 am Kickstands up
We will head out on an easy 4 hour ride to the small town of Ladd, Illinois and get in line at Rips Tavern, known throughout as having the Best Fried Chicken Dinner in Central Illinois and beyond since 1936. The first fry is at 2:30 pm however, we will need to arrive around 1:30 in hopes to get in the first seating. Lines have been known to be a block long. Menu is ¼ chicken light ($5.50), ¼ chicken dark ($5.00), chicken strips ($5.50), (fries or coleslaw included); battered fried mushrooms extra at $2.00. That’s it – plain and simple. So if you are looking for a burger, you are out of luck!
